About Me

Hi, I’m Tracy — born in Salem, Oregon, but raised all over the country. I'm (technically) the fifth of seven kids (an older sister died in infancy) in a big, devout Latter-day Saint family.

My great-great-grandfather, Edward Partridge, was actually the very first bishop of the LDS church, which is kind of wild when you think about it. That same grandpa later inspired one of my favorite characters — Sir Edward Mac Paidin — in my middle-grade fantasy series.

My mom wasn’t born into the faith, but she converted after marrying my dad, so religion and family were the twin pillars of my childhood.

I grew up surrounded by community, great food, creativity, and curiosity.

I was the kid who loved to draw, tell stories, and ask way too many questions.

Eventually, that curiosity won out. By twenty-six, I’d begun my own spiritual journey, leaving the church and setting out to find truth on my own terms. That path led me through some incredible adventures.

For nearly twenty years, I was a U.S. Army spouse, raising three kids while moving from post to post — including more than four years stationed in Germany.

Living overseas opened my eyes to culture, art, and history in ways that never left me.

Much later, after relocating back to my birth state of Oregon, life brought me my soulmate, Jeff, when I was thirty-five. Together, we raised his four children, and two of my three, bringing our total to a wonderfully chaotic six.

Jeff and I have built all kinds of things together — businesses, memories, and a pretty unconventional life. We launched and ran a gourmet mail-order coffee and tea company called Brown Paper Coffee Company, recruiting consultants across five states long before “work from home” was trendy.

For a year and a half, we lived off-grid with all six kids — an experience that taught me self-reliance, patience, and the joy of simple living.

Jeff and I have never been afraid to stand up for what we believe in. At one point, we launched a public campaign for marijuana drug law reform, fighting against injustice. We ended up being interviewed on over 25 radio stations, appearing in newspapers, magazines, and even on national TV. We hosted local events with Portland media personalities and live bands — it was crazy, meaningful, and a time I’ll never forget.

For over twenty years, I was also a partner and administrator in Jeff's small software development company, where I learned trained corporate teams on new software systems. That experience gave me a solid foundation in digital communication and business — skills I’ve carried into everything I do today.

But at my core, I’ve always been an artist and creator. I taught myself pyrography (wood burning) and turned that into a small business, crafting portraits and custom art on wood and leather.

I fell in love with wire-wrapped jewelry, teaching myself to weave metal and stone into intricate designs.

I learned tarot reading, and before long, I offered intuitive guidance to thousands of clients around the world.

I’ve always followed whatever creative spark felt exciting — and I’ve built a career by trusting that spark.

My fascination with health and nutrition led to another chapter: founding Eighty Percent Raw, an online magazine that brought together over 25 raw food chefs and holistic health experts. We published recipes, interviews, and wellness articles for more than four years, helping people reconnect with real, whole food.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I helped run a small record label (Hot Chops Music), managing all the behind-the-scenes business operations — because, apparently, I never learned how to sit still.

And then came fiction writing.

What started as a “maybe I could…” quickly became a full-on obsession. I taught myself how to write, publish, and market books — and I haven’t stopped since. To date, I’ve published more than 30 titles, from magical fantasy adventures to self-help and lifestyle guides. My middle-grade fantasy series, Jack Mac Paidin and the Golden Telescope, is part of a nine-book universe that’s available in eBook, paperback, hardcover, and audiobook formats.

Currently, I’m digging into writing YA romantasy, self-publishing guides, and even recipe books — because my creativity refuses to pick a lane.

Over time, I built a social media following of more than 10,000 readers and fans, and began helping other authors navigate self-publishing — offering editing, branding, and book marketing support. Watching others achieve success has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.

These days, I’m based in northeast Texas, where I continue to write, create art, and explore all things magical. I share home-cooked recipes through my Tracy’s Cozy Kitchen brand, keep my hands busy with pyrography and jewelry design, and spend most days writing new stories — both in fiction and in life.

At heart, I’m still that same truth-seeking Oregon girl — endlessly curious, a little rebellious, and always chasing whatever magic life offers next.
