Product Review: Fire Candle & Soap Co.

Product Review: Fire Candle & Soap Co.

Hi Framly! Tracy here.

I have not made a video for a good long time now, but I have a special excuse to make a video tonight, so I thought I'd do something I'm kind of calling a Saturday sampler. We'll see if this ends up being something I do every Saturday. I'd like to. We'll see uh we'll see if that's something that I do every week or not, but I have a special reason to do a video tonight and it is kind of a sampler. So I thought that I would take some time to share something special with you.

My friends, Brian and Kendra, have started a new candle business and they're based out of Oregon. as you know if you've been following me for any time now I recently relocated from Oregon to Northeast Texas, so a lot of the people that I know are from Oregon and a lot of my followers are from Oregon because we lived there for, you know, most you know lots of lots of years you know for like 25 years or so I lived there and Jeff grew up there so our history is in Oregon, so anyhow and that's how I know Brian and Kendra is because we connected when I was in Oregon.

So anyhow long story short Brian and Kendra have decided to be entrepreneurs and launch into their own business and as you know I really like to support small businesses and self-published authors and all that kind of thing so I told Brian and Kendra that I would be happy to do a review of their new candle product line if they wanted to send me some samples, so they did and that arrived yesterday so I'm super excited to open this box which I've got right here and I haven't even opened anything in there yet. I opened the box itself, but I haven't even unwrapped any of the packaging or anything yet um so that I could do that with you.

So, I wanted to be completely spontaneous-ish and have my first reaction with y'all. At the same time, I have my first experience.

So, a little background. I am a fragrance freak.

I love fragrances, especially like home fragrances, things that'll make my home smell cozy and inviting. And so, I love candles and I love like Scentsy meltables, little wax melts and all that kind of stuff. So I'm pretty darn excited to smell these and give you my honest opinion um they have put a really cool twist on their business so I'm kind of getting ahead of myself here and I'm sorry if there's glare on my glasses here, I'm in front of my computer screen um for the light because you know the lighting. I'm doing this at night so anyhow, the name of their company is Fire Candle and Soap Company. They're based out of Reedsport, Oregon. Their website, if you want to check them out online, is firecandle.us and I'll put a link down below so that you can just go to their website using the link.

But the thing that's really cool, so they sent me this really great letter that they printed out with the description of their selection of candles. And there's some cool stuff right on the box. I won't show you the box because it's kind of a hefty box here and it's got all kinds of stuff in it but he's got some special symbolism. He wrote my name on here and then this symbol I was like what is this symbol? And there's actually a different symbol already handwritten on the surface of the box and that was the first thing that caught my attention, was "What is this symbol you guys?"

So anyway, then I opened it and this letter to me was inside and they sent me this two-page letter that they typed up beautifully and it's very personalized, but again, right here if you can see right here there's this symbolism, this text that I was like "What is that?" It's so strange, I've never seen this before and then there's another one right here if you can see right...let's see if I can show you right here...there's some more of it and I find it throughout the text. Little snippets of this this font, this scripty looking font. And so anyway, come to find out it's Sanskrit and apparently Brian is really into Sanskrit. He's learning about it but, um, I can't even pronounce some of this stuff. It says enclosed is what is known as a blah blah blah, right? But they translate it for me - it says adambarasya udayanam and now which translates apparently as Flight of Fancy.

So, they're calling the selection of candles that they're sending me Flight of Fancy but at the bottom here they say the symbol that I'm seeing on the outside of the box they translate for me here and it says the Sanskrit symbol for fire is pronounced ag-ne. I think that's how you say it I hope I'm looking into the camera. I'm just using my smartphone, so I'm sorry if I'm not looking right at the camera at you like I should be. But anyhow, they give me a really great description here saying that Brian's personal ties to the Sikh world and the subsequent discovery of his ancient connection to it led him to utilize Sanskrit as the foundation of their brand. While many are familiar with the symbol OM, every Sanskrit symbol speaks to Brian. He feels a deep and meaningful connection with the language that, sofar, he does not understand most of it. Then they go on to say that Kendra feels a deep sense of peace and joy with each of her crafts, so I think that the candle creation, I could be wrong about this, but I get the impression that the candle creatio business is kind of Kendra's baby brainchild but that they're doing it together which I think is really beautiful

Anyway, it says, Kendra feels a deep sense of peace and joy with each of her crafts. She finds them all quite fulfilling and shares the passion about the idea of others finding joy through their handiwork. I thought that was really great. And with each candle purchased, a little piece of them goes with it.

So, then they give me a really great description, which I'll read, but they say that there are more products coming in the future. They're just launching, but in early 2025, they're going to include some more products which will be made available first to their Patreon subscribers, which they don't have their Patreon set up yet, but apparently that's in the works. And some of the things that they're thinking about adding are very small runs of candles, soaps, scrubs, etc. that will be exclusive to their Patreon customers. And they're also going to have a rewards program that's currently under development and those customers will have access to special programs and discounts to be determined. So anyway, that's really cool.

I'm going to share these with you. I've got the descriptions here, so let's dig into this shipment that I received from them. And like I said, I haven't even unpackaged this yet. I'm literally just unpackaging this with you and I hope that this isn't too high up here

Anyhow, the other thing that's really cool that they included is this reference card now check this out - you know that I'm all into tarot and you know, not necessarily the woo-woo factor, but I just I like the esoteric metaphysical stuff as you can kind of see from my sign back here on my wall. I like to decorate my space with things that are kind of magical and esoteric and mystical. I just think it's fun. So, numerology is something that I also think is really cool which is awesome because they also included this card that they made that's a reference card. And they personalized it with my name, the numerological outcome for the numbers of my first name. And then also this is the Sanskrit, so I'll read this to you really quick because I think this is really cool and unusual. I haven't ever seen any product line include this kind of stuff before. So, the Sanskrit for my first name

T-R-A-C-Y

T = Creative in Sanskrit

R = Successful

A = Vigilant

C = Artistic and

Y = Helpful.

That's so cool! Is that not so awesome?

And then, I know a bit about numerology myself already, but then they did the breakdown of the numerology of the letters of my name, and they came up with a four(4) being like a Master Number for me. And then they go down and at the bottom they typed up what four actually means numerologically, and it says,

Four is a no-nonsense number with a heads-down approach to life and work. It is extremely dependable and lends a great amount of stability to a person or situation. The Four is dedicated to advancing, but in a more conservative way than a progressive one. (This is kind of me in a lot of ways.) It sticks to what is tried and true instead of attempting methods that are new.

You know, I think I'm a mixture of both, but I just thought this was super cool. And then on the back, it has the Sanskrit symbol here, I think for the Fire and Candle brand name, and then it says Fire Candle and Soap Company, FireCandle.US, handcrafted on the Oregon coast.

So, anyhow, that was a really thoughtful include.

Alright, let's dig in.

Now they did say that they sent me some other special things that are kind of just for me because they know that I make handcrafted jewelry too. It's been a while since I've made it. So, they included some stones in here for me which is really awesome because they know I love stones.

So, let's see what we've got here. I'll get to those in a minute.

Let's do the candles, the fragrance stuff.

So, let me show you here this package they sent me. Oh, this is so cool. Okay, so this flight of candles comes in a handcrafted crate. Check this out. Okay, I'm going to put this box down on the floor now, so I have some space to work with here.

On the end it says Fire Candle and Soap Company and then on the other end it has an engraving uh, the company engraving I think and then this nice engraving here I think this is all hand done. I think they hand did this. I bet Brian did this himself. Is that not beautiful? Look how cool that is.

So, this is their Flight of Fancy they're calling it these candles. Let me unwrap these. There's three of them as you can see. So let me unwrap these one at a time and I've got a reference sheet here that has got descriptions.

So, the candles that are included in this are one are called

Joy of Breakfast and I'll read you the description in a minute here, and the next one is Frankincense and Myrrh, and then the next one is Bro Time.

So, let's see, I want to open them in that order. So, let's see here Joy of Breakfast so let's do that one first. So here we go.

Nice. So, I'm not really smelling anything yet, which is probably good because they've got it nicely sealed with a nice wood a wood top here. And the size of this this is an interesting size candle. Let's see what it says. I'm not seeing the size in ounces on there, but it says Joy of Breakfast - handcrafted on the Oregon Coast. FireCandle.us

So, I'll read you the description of it, what it's supposed to smell like first, and then I'll open it and smell it. So, this is like not like a huge jar candle, but it's not like one of the little, small tea candles either. What do they call those? They're nottea lights. These are bigger than the small candles.

Joy of Breakfast - A proprietary blend of coffee, peppered bacon, cinnamon rolls, which presents a lot like waffles in their opinion, a little smoke and lots of love. This has quickly become our best seller.

It sounds delicious. Let's open it and smell. Umm That is yummy. So here it is. Here's what it looks like. It's got this nice lid. Umm I do definitelyget the coffee and the smoke. I'm not going to light them yet, I'm just going to smell them for now. Let's see there's supposed to be coffee, which I'm definitely getting. Peppered bacon - you know I kind of get the pepper. I think I do kind of get the pepper in here, and the smokiness, and the cinnamon rolls for sure is a factor in here. I can kind of see where it might be like waffles. I can kind of see that. Mmm...that is YUM! Especially for the holiday season, this has a very warm, baked goods, if you like a baked goods kind of fragrance like cookies and cream or just cookies or cinnamon rolls or like apple pie or any of those baking fragrances for your house you're gonna love this. Oh, this smells delicious. I love this one already. Definitely has all those notes that they mentioned in there. So that's great.

And then as I open these and I've unwrapped them, I'm going to put them back in the in the crate, and I'll show it to you when I'm done.

Okay, so the next one is the Frankincense and Myrrh. Okay. And you know what? Honestly, I know it's a well-known fragrance. I mean, you know, we've all heard of frankincense and myrrh, but I really don't know what to expect of those fragrances. I know that I've smelled them in the past individually, but I'm not sure whatthey're supposed to smell like, so let's find out.

I wish I had coffee beans right here. I should have them, so I don't have olfactory fatigue.

This is nice. This is definitely more perfumey smelling. Very rich. It's not floral. I wouldn't say it's floral. It's like, you know, when you think incense, frankincense, frankincense and myrrh. It's very rich and exotic smelling. I don't know how to how else to explain this. Very nice, though. Really, really nice. It's probably... I would use this as a household fragrance. Definitely, it's a little bit more, I don't want to say heavy, but definitely richer for like the cooler months. This isn't a light fragrance. I probably wouldn't use this in the summertime, but really great as an alternative for wintertime and fall and this is even kind of masculine so, you could probably use this in like a men's office, and it would go well. So frankincense and myrrh. That looks beautiful they've got their little Sanskrit symbol on here.

And then the last one is Bro Time. I'm not sure what to expect from this let's see they're saying -

Bro Time - this complex gem is a very personal creation. Look for hints of brandy, tobacco, hickory smoke, and a touch of bourbon over a base of amber, musk and black cedar.

This is gonna be yum if it holds true to those fragrances. Those all sound nice. And then it continues - the wood wick provides the crackle of a tiny fire pit or fireplace a perfect gentleman's evening essence.

Yeah, and for the Frankincense and Myrrh they even say the holiday season seems hardly complete without the essence of a little of these biblical fragrances. For the last one so I didn't read that for you before.

Okay, so let's let's smell this. So here it is. Bro time. Again, this lid is really nice. It's sealed very nice and tight. Oh man! Okay, so these are very distinct. Each one of them has its own very distinct fragrance that's kind of weird I almost got raisin on the end there. Umm...I am definitely getting the bourbon and tobacco. Okay brandy...alcohol, anyway. You know, spirits and tobacco for sure over a base of amber musk and black cedar.

I'm having to tell you that I really like all three of these. There are some fragrances that, you know, I am pretty particular. Like, I don't like things that smell soapy really, or overly floral. And all of these really kind of hit it for me. These are great especially for this time of year. Mmm...and see the little the wood wick? That's nice. We'll have to light it and see what I think. Mmm, very yummy.

And then they've got burning instructions on the bottom. Let's see if I can even read this. I'll put the lid on it. It's very small text. I might have to get my magnifying glasses to see. The one thing I was wondering that I don't recall reading in their paperwork is how long each candle is supposed to burn, how many hours' worth of burn time. Let's see, yeah, I can read this one. It's not too small.

"Warning, to prevent fire and serious injury, burn candle within sight. Keep away from drafts and vibrations. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Never burn candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Burning instructions. Trim wick."

Ok, this doesn't really apply to the wood wick. I think this is just one they put on all the bottoms of all the candles, but I don't think this really applies to the wooden wick because it says trim wick to one quarter inch before lighting and I don't think you can really trim the wood wick. That would be for the cloth wick, the cotton wick.

"Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings. only burn the candle on a level fire resistant surface. Do not burn the candle for more than four hours at a time."

Okay but yeah but it's still I'm not seeing that it says how many how many hours of burn time to expect on these but a few, I'm sure.

Okay cool. So that's all of those and then when I just put them in the little crate by itself it makes a really nice little display. like this. This would look very nice and be a wonderful gift for the holidays if you're looking for something really special and unusual that you can't just get anywhere else this would be a great choice.

I honestly don't know what this retails for because they sent it to me so I could do a review for them. But you can go to their website and find out. I'm not an affiliate or anything like that though I have to say I'd be happy to be an affiliate for their product line if they if they ever end up getting an affiliate program going and then these other things they sent me are you know just personal items for me.

So anyhow, this is Fire Candle and Soap Company. The owners Kendra
Reed and Brian Raymore are my good friends I can highly recommend them. I'm very excited about their jumping into this business and producing such a really awesome and unique product line.

You definitely should give them a try and support their small business. I'm excited. Really good stuff. It's amazing. Really great quality.

So anyhow, like I said at the beginning of this video, I'm an affiliate for quite a few different businesses and product lines and I'm kind of thinking it might be fun, now that we're kind of settled in our new place and I have my office set up, to do like a Saturday sampler where I sample different products and do a review and recommendation. If you like these kinds of videos and me sharing my opinion about different products that I use and try, then let me know.

And let me know what you think about this video. Are you excited about Fire Candle and Soap Co.? I think it's really exciting when people jump out there and take the risk of starting their own small business.

So anyway, I'm proud of Kendra and Brian for doing this and I'm so grateful for their generosity in sending me these beautiful candles to try out and review for them.

Anyhow, hope you enjoyed this, and I hope you'll go and support them in their business endeavors and then I will see about doing these reviews on Sampler Saturdays...Saturday Sampler or something like that.

That's all for now. If you like this kind of content, please do like and subscribe down below.

And then on a completely other note, I have been thinking about reading some more chapters from my books. So if you if you'd like me to do that some more in the future, let me know that as well.

Anyhow, that's it for me for tonight. Hope you enjoyed this, and I'll talk to you next time.

Signing off,

Tracy
