August 29th Was Our First Night in the New House

I can’t even tell you how much happier we are in our cozy little cottage-style home than we were living on our two-acre homestead. When not working on author promotions and pyrography commissions, I have been busy settling in, building furniture, and decorating the place…my favorite part of any move!

Here’s today’s view of my office, if you’re curious about where I do all the things I do. ;) It’s coming along…still needs more wall art. But it’s a work in progress.

Pyrography and Other Art

Now that we’re getting settled in I’m starting to do more artwork, which is my happy place. I like my current configuration (even though I don’t have a ‘real’ desk yet and am still working at a banquet table…I DO have my workbench!) because I can load Spotify on my desktop computer, toss on my headphones, grab a glass of wine, and immerse myself in burning portraits!

Recently, I’ve been playing with creating pencil art on paper…something I haven’t done for a l-o-n-g time now. And I’m having a bit of a blast with that! You can see my current project there on the bench in front of Matthew Perry.

Speaking of Matthew Perry…he’s very close to finished. Just a few final touches, a signature burned, and a light spray of lacquer to seal the color and he’ll be available for purchase on my website.

I have also been working on Mona in my spare moments and as the mood strikes me. Like Matthew Perry, she’ll soon be listed on my website for purchase. Please inquire if you’re interested.

SPEAKING OF WRITING

Just a quick note here to say that I decided to pull both The Order of Light - Jack and the Magic Hat Maker - Book Five, and Isabella the Invisible and The Sumerian Sorceress off pre-order. It was just more than I could get done with everything going on in our world. I plan to think about them again after the New Year. If you have thoughts or opinions about this, I’d love to hear from you.

LASTLY…DIET

I’m back to Whole Foods Plant Based - mostly RAW. And I’m finally seeing results, thank goodness! I’m re-launching the raw food magazine I published for over four years, Eighty Percent Raw, and will be posting details about what I’m doing, what works and what doesn’t now that I’m in my early 60s, recipes, content from and video interviews with other WFPB raw foodists, and more. The website is currently under construction…but check back often! I’m not quite sure when I’ll have it ready to go LIVE, but soon!
